A month dominated by cold winds from between north and east.
The coldest March on my record (1979).
The lowest sunshine total on record (2002).
The last 7 months have all had mean temperatures colder than the 1981-2000 long term average.2 ice days, the first time this has occurred in March.
The wettest March since 2008. (March 2012 14.7mm and March 2011 only 8.8mm).
