'A deep depression west of Ireland is moving slowly 
          north-east and associated troughs will move north-east across much of 
          England. Rain in the South-West will spread north-east turning to snow 
          giving moderate falls over Wales, Midlands, East and South East England. 
          Later snow will turn to rain in these areas with milder conditions and 
          fog. In North England and South Scotland it will be very cold with heavy 
          snowfall later probably spreading to North Scotland. Strong east to 
          south-east winds with gales locally will occur in many areas veering 
          later in South'.
          At 0600 hours-Warm front approaching SW England and SW Ireland. Cloud 
          ahead of this front giving rain and snow over SW England, S.Wales and 
          southern Ireland. Ridge of high pressure over eastern Britain with clear 
          skies and temperatures below freezing . Lowest value 11°F (-11.7°C) 
          at Eskdalemuir. Highest 44°F (6.7°C) at Scilly. Snow cover persists 
          over Midlands, eastern England from Norfolk northwards and much of Scotland. 
          Notable depths are 8" Finningley, 15" Acklington, 9" 
          W.Freugh, 8" Eskdalemuir, 12" Rattray and 8" Hatston.
          Over the near continent-Low over S.Sweden . Winds W to NW . Lowest temperature 
          19°F (-7.2°C) over NE France
          Overnight-Frost in many areas away from the South West. Lowest minimum 
          4°F (-15.6°C) at Dalwhinnie and the highest 40°F (4.4°C) 
          at Scilly. Generally dry overnight although far SW saw 5mm at Scilly 
          and 8mm at Lizard.
          Previous day-Maximum temperatures above freezing in most places although 
          Little Rissington managed only 32°F (0.0°C), Dalwhinnie 31°F 
          (-0.6°C) and Lerwick 30°F (-1.1°C). The warmest place was 
          Scilly which reached 50°F (10.0°C). Precipitation amounts were 
          generally small although Guernsey reported 12mm.
          Outlook-Mild in the South and Midlands with some rain and fog but it 
          is uncertain how long these conditions will last. Further snow in the 
          North.
